Children in Early Years are fully immersed in creative, engaging and explorative learning experiences to foster a lifelong love of learning.

The themed curriculum encourages the children to problem solve, experiment and take an active role in learning, taking advantage of neighbouring woodland further enables us to enrich the learning experience.

Centring around a theme, our rich curriculum provides a wide range of indoor and outdoor opportunities for children to develop physically, academically and mentally building on their understanding and knowledge throughout their Early Years experience.

Implementation

Reading and phonics is central to Early Years. Daily phonics sessions, individual reading and class story time give our children the very best start. Both indoor and outdoor classrooms are rich in language to help widen vocabular,y while frequent visits to the Reading Garden, reading buddies and many other creative reading opportunities the reading bird box book swapping scheme help create a love for reading.

Literacy and Maths learning opportunities are also embedded in the curriculum where both indoor and outdoor learning spaces help form a strong foundation of early number, shape knowledge and literacy. Children also have access to Literacy and Maths huts to support their own learning.

Fortnightly Welly Walks enrich the children’s experiences by providing investigative and exploration opportunities.
